The city of Cosenza lies at the confluence between the rivers Crati and Busento and evokes in our memory the legend of King Alaric, who was buried here with his treasure. The old town centre, dominated by the ruins of the imposing Swabian castle, is referred to as Cosenza Vecchia. It is a labyrinth of narrow streets placed on the slope of a hill facing the new city, thus creating a contrast between old and new and a perfect balance between different elements at the same time.
